Penne with Prosciutto and Vodka Sauce

This is a flavorful recipe that contains prosciutto, penne pasta, tomatoes, garlic, vodka, heavy cream and parmesan cheese.
Ingredients -

1/4 Pound Prosciutto, chopped
1 Pound Penne Pasta
2 - 8 Ounce Cans Chopped Tomatoes
1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Teaspoon Garlic, chopped
1 Tablespoon Parsley Flakes
1 Tablespoon Crushed Bay Leaves
1 Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper
1/4 Cup Vodka
1 Cup Heavy Cream
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese

 
Preparation:
  1. Sauté the garlic in the extra virgin olive oil.
  2. Add the chopped tomatoes, prosciutto, parsley, bay leaves, red pepper and vodka.
  3. Simmer for about 10 minutes in medium heat.
  4. Cook the penne until al dente and drain.
  5. And the heavy cream to the sauce and cook for 2 minutes in low heat.
  6. Add the penne to the sauce.
  7. Add in the Parmesan cheese.
  8. Mix again.

Don’t worry about using the Vodka in the sauce. Cooking the sauce, releases all of the alcohol in the recipe and just leaves the mild flavor of vodka.
